T.G.I.M!!!!

T.G.I.M!!!!

If you plan to cut parts on your CNC router this week, remember…

If you are having trouble holding your parts properly somebody may tell you that you need to upgrade to a larger vacuum pump on your CNC vacuum table. That same person may tell you that if your ice cream is melting, that you’ll need a stronger, more powerful freezer. Upgrading either will cost money.  Not just the cost of initial upgrade, but the increase cost of additional electricity consumption as well.  We here at All Star CNC Products say, before upgrading your vacuum pump (or your freezer for that matter), make sure that all of your seals are preventing leak.

Vacuum pressure leak is why vacuum tables can’t hold parts.  The proper gasket material is essential to holding parts.  An air-tight system holds parts firmly in place, allowing to cut more parts in less time.  MAX YOUR VAC with All Star CNC Products, your ONLY solution to CNC gasket.

Comes see us at #iwf2022 in Atlanta, booth B6524 to learn more about how we have been helping our customers maximize their vacuum performance for over two decades.     #allstarcnc #cncgasket #cncrouter #spoilboard

Fun Friday!

As IWF draws near once again we like to take a look at how much progress we’ve made over the last year.

We are always trying to improve vacuum performance and help CNC owners and operators MAX YOUR VAC.

This year we will be show casing our Tile Gasket which we’ve developed over the last year to increase vacuum surface area on MDF and other porous spoilboards. Excellent for Custom jobs, Nesting Programs, and Short Run applications.

Throw back to how funny our booth looked at the 2018 IWF show Pre-Covid. Come check us out this year and see how much progress we’ve made over the last 4 years, we’ll be show casing demos on our mini vacuum table using gasket.

EDUCATIONAL SESSIONS

Increase CNC Router Performance by Improving Vacuum w/ Gasketing Products & Techniques

Tuesday, August 23  1:00 PM – 2:30 PM

When it comes to holding parts on a CNC Router, vacuum is the most common (and often only) method being used today.  With that being the case, why not maximize a vacuum’s performance if vacuum is the ONLY thing holding parts?

Shops will source everything from which router to invest in, to software, to tooling, to material, to employees and customers.  But when it comes time to actually cutting parts fast and effectively, was the router able to do it, yes or no?  If parts are too small, or onion skins or tabs are needed, or feed rates are painfully slow, or material is being wasted, or time is being wasted on re-setting up, than we need to improve the vacuum’s performance by eliminating leak.  Gasket products and solutions are the only way to improve a vacuum system’s performance.

In this session, you will learn how to eliminate vacuum pressure loss.  Users who hold parts better, make more parts in less time.  Whether it is small parts or large, production runs or custom work, wood or plastic, big vacuum systems or small, the same science always applies to eliminate vacuum pressure loss and we do this with gasketing products and techniques.

More Vacuum or More Gasket?

What Can You do to Improve Your Vacuum’s Performance?

You can’t turn your vacuum up to 11, but you can hold parts more securely using gasket!

There are two modes of thought using gasket. First is using our Grid Gasket to seal the bottom perimeter of your porous spoilboard or dedicated fixture. This will help focus your draft through the top of your porous material or vacuum ports and will secure your working area for your parts to rest on.

The next step is creating an airtight seal between your spoilboard and your raw material, the parts we want to cut. We do this using a variety of gasket methods as no two shops or projects are the same.

Our On-Board adhesive gasket is best suited for short run projects and is a peel and stick gasket tape. This is the quick and dirty method of creating a semi dedicated fixture on your spoilboard.

The Tile Gasket is excellent for full sheet and nested program cutting applications where sizes and shapes vary between sheets of material and final product. With vacuum holes punched every one inch it is possible to hold onto parts as small at 3″ x  4″ square.

Cover Gasket is a full sheet of gasket material that covers the entire surface of the spoilboard. This material is used to create a stencil of your product with an area removed for a vacuum space to be created. Great for small parts with narrow corners and sharp edges.

With a good seal and proper vacuum there is no need to screw down small parts, use clamps or buy a larger pump.

Stop the leak, Hold it better, Cut it better, Profit Better.

Part Hold Down, Dedicated Fixture

InBoard Gasket Dedicated Fixture for Production Run Parts

This month’s Fixture Of The Month is from a customer that was was having difficulty holding these small, plastic parts on this spoilboard.  Using our In-Board Gasket Solutions, they got away from a spoilboard and instead created in-house a Dedicated Fixture to make an air-tight set-up.  Using InBoard Gasket from All Star, they were very successful in making more parts in less time after this was completed.

Weekly Recap, 2022 Week 28

All Star CNC Products Weekly Recap 7/11-7/15

Some of this week’s highlights in the world of Gasket and CNC routers. As always, we look to improve vacuum performance when it comes holding products and cutting small parts.

This week we have added and introduced 11 new clients to gaskets as a method to improve their holding capabilities with their CNC routers.

Our Tile Gaskets continue to be a popular seller when it comes to Nested Base Manufacturing and custom design to optimize vacuum clamping without a dedicated fixture.

Mike has been preparing his presentation for the International Woodworking Fair in Atlanta and we are excited to unveil some new products that have been in research and development over the last year.

We continue to build up our inventory to ensure all orders can be filled and shipped the same day. Making it easier for customers to receive their products in a timely manner without manufacturing delays.

Look out for our monthly News Letter where we will be showing off our “Fixture of the Month” and give brief introductions to the different styles and uses of dedicated and fabricated fixtures. Including guitar manufacturing, custom signs, and cabinetry parts.

Downdraft vs Vacuum Clamp CNC Router

For those CNC Router operators that do production parts, we encourage these facilities to implement Dedicated Fixtures for improved router performance. The basic MDF spoilboard is leaky, drafty and a very ineffective way to get max vacuum to the PART, the most important thing in the whole process. A Dedicated Fixture like these are working towards creating an air-tight system runs FAST and EFFECIENT and very helpful to those shops looking to make more parts in less time.

This fixture is a thing of beauty. Poly furniture is tough to cut. This customer made a series of air-tight fixtures. Each fixture utilized our In-Board Gasket, being placed inside pre-routed channels. Locating dowels keeps raw material in place. These parts were cut in a single pass. It was very impressive to watch this operation purr. This dedicated fixture became a very efficient tool for what they are doing. Took a short time to make these fixtures, but now that they are done their time per part is now

CNC Dedicated Fixture

Dedicated fixture is a game changer.

10% of what it used to be.

Since finding our solutions a few years ago, this customer will no longer even attempt to cut a part on any of his seven routers without first utilizing one of our gasket solutions to vacuum clamp his part. A one-time recordable injury in the shop as a result of a part flying off the table started his journey looking for our type of solution, and now he is EXTREMLY happy he did as he cuts parts faster, cleaner and with less waste (and zero parts flying from the table).

If you own or operator a CNC router, we look forward to working with you one day and helping you get the most out of your CNC Router investment..

Pod and Rail CNC Router Dedicated Fixture

Every shop we deal with is unique. There are so many different variables that can change (type of router being used, type of material being cut, type of tooling being utilized, type of elevation being based, etc.) that no two shops are ever the same. But every customer that finds us is looking to address a difficulty that they all share: To improve the work-holding of the parts they are looking to vacuum down on their CNC router. We can help them do this is a variety of ways…

This particular customer last week called using multiple 5-axis pod-and-rail machines. Yet they called as they wanted to enjoy the benefits of a nesting table for a particular repeat job that they were looking to vacuum better. Needed the ability to route angled pieces out of a single sheet to later be miter-folded together. We talked them through the idea of making a dedicated fixture to fit over their pods. Used an in-board gasket to seal the vacuum chamber area under each part. Major improvement. Now that the proof of concept has worked, they will be making the same fixture out of a UHMW-type material to prevent leak through the current MDF set-up. Also mentioned to get their vacuum channels closer to the tool path as that is where the torque is occurring. Both of these improvements will result in improved vacuum performance on these particular parts.

The whole fixture set up will 100% percent result in more parts in less time, less waste and cleaner edge quality.

Hold It Better.
Cut It Better.
Profit Better.

If All Star CNC Products can help to improve the work-holding on someone’s CNC router, we will look forward to working with them. Our unique line of CNC Gasket products and concepts will have a specific solution for nearly every application that a customer will present to us. Parts don’t budge in air-tight systems. Gasket creates air-tight systems.

It is possible to make a dedicated fixture with a Pod and Rail CNC Router.

CNC Routers are Capable of Amazing Things

CNC Routers are capable of amazing things. Don’t let poor vacuum performance and inefficient work-hold limit the machine’s production.

Some CNC Router operators are told that if they cannot hold their parts with their existing vacuum system, that they need to upgrade their vacuum pump. That can be a major, unexpected cost for someone trying to keep their business running.

Looking for a more effective, science-based solution: All Star’s gasket products and techniques. Like the lip on your freezer door, gasket materials seals the edge, maximizing vacuum pressure. It allows our customers to not only cut their parts better, faster and with less waste, but they become happier with their CNC’s abilities.

Hold It Better.
Cut It Better.
Profit Better.

Poor Vacuum performance limits your production ability.
